Six Months into the RAN-FPI Partnership

We recently passed the six-month mark since RAN Fire Protection Engineering welcomed The Fire Protection International Consortium Inc. (FPI) to our team. This milestone offers us a valuable opportunity to reflect on our progress in expanding our expertise, geographic reach, and commitment to client service. Six months in, we’re pleased with the collaborative progress we’ve made, confirming the strategic benefits of this integration.

“The addition of a company like FPI brings expanded capabilities, geographic reach, and deep experience — strengthening the foundation of our continued, steady growth,” says RAN President Doug Nadeau. “As Jim Collins describes in Good to Great — the flywheel effect is real, with every turn, momentum builds, and progress accelerates exponentially”.

Expanded Expertise: The Warehouse & Storage Edge

One of the most significant outcomes of the partnership is the increased depth of expertise we now offer. FPI brought a nationally recognized specialization in the complex warehouse and storage industry, experience that has even helped shape fire codes themselves. This unique capability positions our combined team to handle any challenge, from massive e-commerce distribution centers to specialized storage facilities.

The addition of principals Carl Anderson and Gerald (Jerry) Schultz have further strengthened our leadership. Both bring decades of experience in water-based suppression design, complex system troubleshooting, and large-scale storage projects.

Mentorship remains core to RAN’s culture. Jerry Schultz leads a warehouse fire protection session at the Albany office, sharing expertise and strengthening team knowledge.

Uniting Two Client-First Cultures

In this industry, mergers succeed not through assets, but through people and shared values. At RAN we’ve always believed that while our clients expect satisfaction, we earn loyalty. That philosophy has guided every project and relationship we’ve built, and it’s one that The FPI shares deeply.

As RAN President Doug Nadeau emphasizes, our engineers are never “armchair engineers.” We practice applied engineering, hands-on, client-focused, and grounded in the realities of the job site. The FPI team mirrors that same ethos, bringing decades of loyal client relationships built on responsiveness, trust, and field-tested expertise. Together, we’re uniting two cultures that put clients first, building a stronger team dedicated to earning loyalty through excellence every day.

Behind the Scenes: Consolidated Resources

Integration isn’t only about aligning people; it’s also about strengthening the systems that support them. Our Business Operations Manager, Morgan Tambolleo, has been instrumental in ensuring a seamless transition. She has successfully absorbed the increased administrative workload while standardizing systems and processes across both firms, streamlining daily operations and eliminating friction behind the scenes.

Equally vital is Jen Shannon, our Director of Business Development, whose leadership has ensured that the merger strengthens, not disrupts, the trusted client relationships both RAN and FPI have cultivated over the years. Jen’s strategic focus continues to drive new growth while preserving the loyalty and trust that define both organizations.

Looking Ahead

The first six months confirm the strength and alignment of this partnership. As we move forward, RAN remains focused on expanding expertise, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering the exceptional service that earns loyalty, one project, one relationship, and one solution at a time.

“The journey continues, stronger than ever.”
— Doug Nadeau, President, RAN Fire Protection Engineering
